Recent clinical advances and basic discoveries have triggered a renaissance in tumor immunology. Many of the fundamental observations that have driven recent clinical successes in tumor immunotherapy have been made by investigators in our local Boston community, including HMS and its hospitals, MIT and the Broad Institute. However, as a community, we have not fully developed shared goals and projects that would bring us together, enhance our science and create funding opportunities to tackle ambitious projects. To meet that need, we propose to hold a cross-instructional 2-day retreat in the Fall of 2015 to bring together clinical and basic researchers across our community.
November 16 - 17, 2015
Joseph B Martin Conference Center
77 Avenue Louis Pasteur
Boston, MA 02115
The objectives of the retreat are to:
- increase transparency about the range of basic, translational and clinical research efforts in tumor immunity going on in our community;
- build a community of researchers from which collaborative cross-institutional and multi-disciplinary research projects can be catalyzed;
- begin to identify major research initiatives in tumor immunology that capitalize on our community’s unique strengths.
